If you know me, you know that playlists and music are very important to me. I love creating unique and specific playlists and in the process finding new music to fall in-love with.
I don’t think I go a day without listening to music at some point. Music makes me happy and finding new songs (especially by small, unknown artists) is sometimes the best part of my day. I always made playlists throughout my teens but eventually would stress about what to put in each playlist and I’d get bored. Until I started putting in more effort and really thinking about what kind of playlist I was making. Now my playlists are much more specific and growing in number day by day.
I decided to start making posts about my playlists in the hopes that they can bring someone else as much joy as it brings me to make them. I will do a post on a playlist and mention a few of my favourite songs in them and highlight the theme behind each playlist.
todays playlist: good morning sunshine
Fun fact – I am currently listening to this playlist as I write this.
I created this playlist with the idea of just having woken up, the sun is shining through your window and you are about to start your daily routine. It is meant for songs that are soft, happy and put you in the mood to have a good day. How you start your day is so important and I found that these songs help start my day on a happy and mellow note. For me, I didn’t always want the most upbeat, pop songs to start my day. This is more ‘morning coffee in the sun’ kind of vibes.
Some of my favourite songs in this playlist that remind me of morning sunshine:
- All This Love – Angus & Julia Stone
- Clean Eyes – SYML
- Friday I’m In Love – The Cure
- Here Comes The Sun – The Beatles
- Upside Down – Jack Johnson
- Gold Rush – Taylor Swift
- Almost (Sweet Music) – Hozier
- Wake Me – Bleachers
My recommendation? Put this on as soon as you get up. Play it while you brush your teeth and wash your face. Blast it a little louder when you make your bed. Let it play while you drink your morning coffee or tea.
I hope it brings you as many good mornings as it has brought me. Nothing better than starting your day in a good mood.
Stay tuned for the next playlist.
All the love, Jay.
