My Makeup Go To’s

Makeup is one of my passions in life. I love doing makeup, I love watching anything makeup related and I especially love buying makeup! So I thought I would share with you a few of my staple makeup products that I tend to reach for on a daily basis. These products are some of my favourites that I have been using for a few years and will always go out and replace them if they are finished. I do not try find a substitute for them and I will spend the extra money on some as I find they are worth every cent. Nothing better than finding a faithful product that works for you.

urban decay born to run eyeshadow palette

This palette has been one of the best purchases of my life. This palette is so versatile as you can create so many looks with the shadows. There are neutrals but also colour shades that can be used for more bolder looks. The shadows are extremely pigmented and easy to blend out. I have used this palette on a day to day basis for natural looks but have also taken it with me to festivals for some colourful looks. It is more on the expensive side but so worth the price for its versatility. It is perfect for travelling as it has most of the colours one would want for a variety of looks, therefore you would only need to pack one palette. It has a massive mirror and has very sturdy, beautiful packaging. I can’t say enough good things about this palette.

mac soft and gentle highlighter

By far my favourite highlighting product. I have been using this for years now and will always go and buy a new one once I have finished mine. This highlighter is soft on the skin and easy to blend. It provides you with a beautiful glow that you can build up to see that highlight from space or keep on the more natural side for that “glow from within”. It is the perfect soft pink highlighter. I have yet to find another highlighter that does the job as well as ‘soft and gentle’.

L’Oréal Paradise Extatic Mascara

My absolute favourite drug store mascara. This mascara is amazing at volumising your lashes while also adding to the length. My lashes always look thick and long once I have applied this mascara. The applicator is a fluffy head which helps create that thick lash look and is easy to apply, even to the bottom lashes. There is a lash primer than comes with it and while the mascara is good on its own, the primer does certainly help add to the mascara by making the lashes more intense and voluminous. There is also a waterproof option – which I have tested and it definitely passed the test – which is great for hot summer days when you do not want your mascara to smudge.

urban decay all nighter setting spray

I had seen all the hype around this one and had my reservations if it was actually as good as everyone was saying it was. IT IS. This setting spray helps keep your makeup in place for the longest time. I wore this to my university graduation and I applied my makeup at 9am and yet when I walked across the stage at 7pm, my makeup was still perfectly intact. It was also a hot December’s day and nothing budged. This spray really does stay all night. Whenever I know I have a long day of makeup wearing to do, I pack this in my bag and every few hours I spray a little more and then dab it in with a beauty blender. It keeps your foundation looking good and non-cakey. Overall, it keeps your face fresh and set.

maybelline fit me CONCEALER

As you can see in the picture, this product is very well loved. It is a creamy concealer of medium to build-able coverage. As someone with dry skin, I love a good creamy concealer for under my eyes. The FitMe concealer is my go to for under eye concealing and highlighting. It does not cake under my eyes and also helps brighten up my under eye area. Very easy to blend out. I also like to use it on my no makeup days to conceal problem areas and brighten up my face a bit. It is an affordable option and does the job well.

Makeup is such a fun area in life and I love discovering new products that I grow to love. It has been such a fun learning experience experimenting with different products and finding those good old favourites. All these products were used to create the makeup look I am wearing in the photos and I loved using them.
